This book should belong in the shelf of every teenager. It’s a Bildungsroman with added magic realism. The setting of the book makes it more the appealing. Change is coming, for the old world and for the protagonist.
A combination of Tangkhul folklore and lived realities of the Tangkhuls who are slowly becoming urbanised. The stories are an assimilation of survivals of the old folk belief from omens to customs and Christianity.
