Phungreiso Varu

Phungreiso Varu is a versatile professional holding a Master's Degree in Social Sciences from TISS, Mumbai, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. His expertise in communication, writing, and storytelling has been refined over the years.

As an advocate for social development, he has dedicated himself to empowering marginalized communities and youth throughout India, especially in the Northeast. His impactful research and work have been presented internationally, including in South Africa and Thailand, aimed at sparking positive change. Notably, he was honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mitra Award in 2009.

With a career that spans roles at BBC-Media Action and as a Professor at Assam Don Bosco University in Northeast India, he has continually expanded his knowledge, completing programs at the esteemed Coady Institute in Canada and the University of Michigan in 2021, focusing on leadership development, inspiring and motivating individuals.
